I copy-pasted this out of Calca just now and you can see the the total is incorrect.

A calca-like mechanism for adhoc demos and dialog would also serve well after visitors speak on their papers.

Cleverly, Calca appears to go a bit further than even MMA by back-filling changed definitions, almost like functional reactive programming.

Not as fancy as Calca for sure, by it can do functions...

The awk script should do if you want something simpler, but I'd recommend either Soulver or Calca for their extra features.

That looks like a cool app, but it is not a new kind of calculator: see also Calca and Soulver for previous work in this space.

Just for fun, here's my most recent Calca file.

One feature that Soulver has that I would love to see in Calca is combinatorics - you can do x choose y in Soulver.

The only advantage Calca seems to have is they’ve had almost a decade to add things like extra functions (compound interest, trig, …), constants, operators, etc.

I think that the notation in Calca to use a `=>` to display results maybe adds a bit more clarity to the math expressions, but your display style seems to work pretty well too.

I basically stopped using "calculators" when Soulver and more recently Calca came out.

The documentation is also all composed in Calca, which is helpful.

Calca is more like a spreadsheet than a programming language interpreter, so I doubt you'll find what you're looking for.

I've also tried Calca[2], which seems really good but ultimately didn't replace Soulver for me.
