In the age of instantaneous communication, Buzzfeed authors can verify most things relatively simply, they just choose not to.

Of course, the rest of the cruft on the Buzzfeed mobile page were two (!) links to their app...

As a concrete example, take a look at the BuzzFeed app[2] which only has the prominent social buttons as visual cruft.

When it comes to technical articles this starts to become extremely annoying to read blogs/papers as if it was written for BuzzFeed.

But, Buzzfeed doesn’t work if people need to pay per article.

I don't fancy Buzzfeed top 10 lists much, but someone out there finds it valuable.

Obviously Buzzfeed does a lot better, and it's adorable.

Do they do anything other than lap up the bullshit gawker and buzzfeed ads, the simple pandering of Apple ads extolling faux-quality, the lazy hero worhsip of Musk?

:) Buzzfeed at least adds a little original content and tries to make sure they're taking stuff they legally can.

Movie trailers, articles, songs, Buzzfeed lists, surveys, memes, and so forth?

Goes to show that nothing under the sun is new, not even Buzzfeed.

The insane amount of reposts that Buzzfeed-esque garbage gets just isn't all that encouraging to me.

Buzzfeed is a good example of a site that rose to prominence with GIF listicles but is now branching into actual journalism.
