I used Adrafinil before Modafinil and the effects were similar - I was taking 350mg of adrafinil for similar effects to a 200mg Modafinil.

For me, using adrafinil to get by on less sleep was considerably more desirable than using caffeine.

But adrafinil isn't regulated that way, you used to be able to get it OTC / ordering online e.g.

Of course, Adrafinil is OTC in the US too and that's the prodrug for Modafinil.

Not anymore, spent two years using amphetamines daily, different stims like adrafinil, modafinil etc.

I've used Adrafinil where legal, which is converted by the body into that, and Adderall under prescription.

However adrafinil is currently unregulated in the US, and your liver will metabolize it into modafinil with a half-life of about 1 hour.

Or better yet titrate the addictive amphetamine down with adrafinil or modafinil.

Or take the case of adrafinil, which metabolizes into modafinil (provigil).

I tried the unregulated modafinil prodrug adrafinil but never asked the Doc to prescribe it.

(And yes, adrafinil does tax the liver some, but no more so than plenty of other drugs).

Interestingly, adrafinil is completely unregulated in the U.

Not helping solve your problem, but regardless alertness talk to your doctor about Modafinil or Adrafinil - both are non-addictive "vigilance" drugs, I have hypersomnia and mild narcolepsy; I've been taking Modafinil for over 9 years and it's truly transformed my life.

Adrafinil is just fine (not quite as effective, but nearly so), but its patent ran out.

Adrafinil always needs disclaimers, but looks like it is now a thing of the past with Olmifon shutting down production.

Adrafinil is an effective way to avoid a lack of sleep's associated cognitive deficits.
