Ligate in a sentence as a verb

Digest & ligate isn't even the worst problem.

They first tried to ligate and stop them and when they failed, they pivoted and out executed them

Instead, inventors, especially James Watt, ligate rather than improve or manufacture their design.

I believe it was more complicated than just “ligate something that endonucleases can’t bind” and there were interesting reasons why, but i bet this information is available somewhere since the slides were made for investors.

That is, is it the codepoint sequence U+0066 U+006C turned into a ligated version visually, or is it U+FB02 the single codepoint? Then I get paranoid: Did my text editor Helpfully convert the sequence of characters into the ligature character?
