solarized

So the Solarized home page starts off with this paragraph: > Solarized is a sixteen color palette (eight monotones, eight accent colors) designed for use with terminal and gui applications.

Contrast in solarized is too low for me - it is hard to read text on the website.

Personally I use the solarized theme, and have invested more time on that, than the default themes.

First it was monokai then solarized; these days seti is pretty popular too.

I like that Solarized is built in as a theme I also like the nice list of syntax highlighting.

The solarized vim plugin even has a key binding to do this.

I actually had to switch to Solarized Light for awhile because my eyes couldn't stand white text on a dark background.

Can anyone recommend color schemes other than Solarized that have extensive support across board (not only vim, but all the plethora of terminal emulators, command-line applications, etc.)?

Have been using solarized since a long time.

I use solarized, which has a light and a dark variant.

Like even the solarized theme for emacs was pretty lack luster compared to the atom one until I went in an did some manual adjustments.

My favorites are solarized, flatland, and codeschool.

It's a bit like text editors before the "solarized" theme;) Anyway looks like a good piece of software!

Then I click the "Find styles for this site" menu item, download the "Hacker News Solarized (Dark)" theme, and enjoy high contrast YC on all my devices.

Solarized is likely the most advanced/complete vim colorscheme by looking at the solarized.vim.

Solarized is too low-contrast for me, so I have hacked-on support for hybrid (solarized syntaxes + tommorow color codes), but it's not really uniform.

Most editors have colors schemes, try Solarized, Dark Vim etc..
