It just so happens that they've also been speaking at conferences, including Microconf and others like it.

In my circles (MicroConf, Micropreneur Academy, etc) it's virtually nothing except single founder companies.

Yes, besides Patio11 a lot of those attending MicroConf has done it!

MicroConf just concluded (patio11 spoke) and I spent the conference collecting businesses doing just this.

Is there an European equivalent of MicroConf?

I've only met patio11 in person very briefly (thaks to rwalling's MicroConf), but everything I saw confirmed the idea that he's a very nice, helpful person.

One thing I thought was interesting from MicroConf Europe last year is that I had very, very few conversations about actual technology, even though some of the people were certainly capable of it.

I bought his MicroConf/Podcast partner Rob's book a while back, and it was well worth the money I spent on it, and I continue to advocate it for people interested in doing bootstrapped startups.

I was fortunate enough to be able to ask patio11 that same question at MicroConf Europe a few years back, and I was very heartened by the answer: it's not what he wanted to be doing.

Thanks for the kind words, and thanks also for the inspiration - your talks at Better Software, and MicroConf Europe were very nice in that they show that it's possible to do a cool, successful bootstrapped startup in Europe too.

(Google Patio11, read his articles, listen to his podcast and track down his microconf talks they all relate to your question and contain great advice.) Sounds like you could use a standard website and offer a subscription offering.
