Surely Hyundais (in the US at least) top the list because of how easy they've been historically to steal?

At least until about 9 months ago, used hyundais of the post 2005 vintage were steals.

Wealthy people (mostly) didn’t own the Kias and Hyundais that were stolen en masse during the early 2020’s for instance.

This has nothing to do with EVs, and likely all new Hyundais do (or will?) use this same diagnostic system.

There were plenty of Peugeots, Fiats, Hyundais and Geelys when I went there in 2017.

I think the most stolen cars are Hyundais and Toyotas (and maybe F-150s, these days).

Go to your local course and drive around the parking lot sometime on a Saturday…my guess is you are going to see far more older Hondas, Hyundais and Kia’s than Bentleys.

It wasn't all that long ago that people were afraid of driving their Hyundais at Highway speeds, now they build quality vehicles across the entire lineup and have for 3 or 4 complete model generations.

Tow truck driver knew right where it needed to go for service, I asked him if he tows Kias a lot, and his answer was "Just Hyundais and Kias all day".

These days I see a surprising number of Hyundais, but outside of what seems to be fairly particular parts of the U.

BMWs are just straight up nicer to drive than Hyundais.

The stryker will find or buy from somewhere, a pool of unissued VINs that don't flag anything in the state registration system and match various vehicles (Dodge Chargers, Kias, Hyundais).
