In the mean time I've plugged a Fantom external HDD[1] into my Diskstation and have set it to run backups there.

I trust you're working hard on these problems, but can't fantom why it takes so long.

Same reason I keep my Roland Fantom around - has everything built in to the device.

Gosu and Fantom are similar attempts, although I think these two already failed to gain traction.

OP - I noticed you were thorough enough to mention both Fantom and Kotlin in one section, so for the preceding section you might want to note that CoffeeScript also has a safe-invoke operator like Groovy's.

Being a synth guy, I like to do that sort of routing in my Nord Modular, but I see even the most bare-bones master keyboards having zone/split functionality built in, and its still easily accessible on workstation platforms like Fantom or Kronos.

Don't think that's the case with Ceylon or Kotlin, perhaps with some other "post-Scala" JVM language such as Gosu or Fantom, but definitely with Groovy.

Fantom also runs on the JVM and the CLR.

Fantom: Typesystem is unsound, far away from correctness, only hard-coded Generics, many basic things are not expressions, like if-then-else or try-catch.

There's also Opa and Fantom, if we're going even more esoteric...
