Exhalation in a sentence as a noun

You lose mass by exhalation of CO2, not defecation.

Mine's set to detect apnea events and adjust between 5-15 for pressure and to adjust that further based on exhalation.

... If you take longer to exhale than to inhale, especially when you are relaxing, the slowing-down effect of exhalation will predominate.

So I go to Rapgenius, click that line and it says: "To “shotgun” is to inhale from a pipe or other smoking device, followed shortly by an exhalation into someone else’s mouth."Ah!

This breathing exercise done just before sleep time has helped me sleep better: 5 minutes of even breathing, each breath consisting of a 3-second inhalation and 6-second exhalation.

If it's forcing air in at a decent pressure then does it detect an exhale or are you expected to just push on through? It seemed like from the video they airing would add pressure to the inhalation and switch off for the exhalation, or at least that's what I'd try and do, but then I don't know much about these things!
