Edulcorate in a sentence as a verb

In the worst cases, bad news will be edulcorated, then removed, until every line on the dashboard is green.

But for some people we are all equivalent so it’s a non-issue; for some others it’s an edulcorated form of ethnic cleansing.

I'm sure the original talk by Hawking was inspiring, but this summarised version reads like an edulcorated sci-fi dream, somewhere on par with "some day we'll all have flying cars".
