Ternary in a sentence as a noun

What I got was a blog post about how ternary operators can be written on multiple lines.

OT but this is the first time I've seen the ternary operator used with only one operand.

* Why are you adding a ternary if to test posts_per_page size rather than just setting it to `null` to indicate "all posts" in the first place?

I consider ternary a "sharp knife" in that even though it saves space, I never want to see it used more than one level deep.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world: Those who understand ternary, those who don't, and those who mistaken it for the binary system.

Which underlying algorithm? The search engine was built on a ternary tree with a custom merging algorithm.

I may even use a cascaded ternary operator.

Ternary in a sentence as an adjective

Uh, wouldn't that be called a ternary search?Saying "double-pivot binary search" is kinda like saying "three-wheeled bicycle".

A ternary operator usually yields furrowed eyebrows for a few seconds.

And how on earth does a two-long ternary chain strike you as "extensive"?If you want to do something in addition to assignment, it's really quite easy: Just add a new `if` block underneath.

Not directly related to this cheatsheet, but I was reminded by the section on operators: you can combine multiple binary operators to get something a lot like ternary operators.

Because a declaration like "1..n" means an imperative loop, a declaration like "convert 17 in decimal to ternary" means a whole bunch of divisons and remainders and aggregation, then a reflect means reversing a string, which implicitly means iterating over a character array and allocating new space for the reversed result, then a reconvert ternary to decimal means an iteration with powers of 10, where a power means other iteration over multiplication....jesus!

The ones I know are:The usual: There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those\n that understand binary and those that don't.\n\nThen there was: There are 11 kinds of people in the world, those\n that understand binary and those that don't.\n\nWhich is a riff on: There are 3 kinds of people in the world, those\n who can count, and those who can't.\n\nThen along came: There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those\n that understand binary, those that don't, and\n those that didn't expect this joke to be in\n ternary.\n\nYours, on the other hand, just doesn't really make sense.
