Syncopate in a sentence as a verb

*By swing I mean more than just syncopate with the rest of the band.

You can syncopate by altering an accent place while still on the same time.

I can read music, but I generally take a melody, syncopate it, and add my own harmonies and nuances as I play it, by ear.
