I cannot think of any subscription-based service (other than MMO subscriptions) where the implicit assumption was not, "Keep charging unless they cancel during the trial period".

That's a fair point: I didn't read the original suggestion to mean, "Your ISP acts as an agent to manage your paid site subscriptions" -- which, you're right, has nothing to do with net neutrality -- I just instantly jumped to the blocking/throttling conclusion.

Subscriptions are great, but how do we get people like the author of this post to buy into them?
