So the CEO dropped out of Standford at 19, started this company, and now she's a billionaire?

Maybe the best at MIT don't feel like being the new kids at a club full of Standford alumni.

Looks like Standford is learned something:-) Not everyone that can afford to pay is smarter then the one who can't.

The Standford experiment was very probably a trauma for this former guard, and his denegating discourse seems strongly biased by this.

This article (hosted not insignificantly at standford.edu) is an absolutely textbook example of this phenomenon.

Also, might make you want to go to the d-school at Standford because a number of stories are based on her class there.

For some more theoretical stuff, I suggest you check out MIT OpenCourseware as well as video lectures from Standford on youtube.

Which, don't get me wrong, is a great school...but I could have went to Standford for free?...that's pretty crazy to me.

I think resources like Sama's free startup class at Standford are a great solution.

Six figures is seniority pay in almost any field outside of medicine, particularly if you exclude the Standford PhD folks going straight to Google, Microsoft, or Amazon.

As for why not just donate to standford?

Heck I've seen class A universities steal i mean "borrow" material from Coursera, edX and from Standford (and others) video lectures plenty of times.

I followed the Coursera course linked from the article and the similar "Programming Paradigms" course from Standford[1], and from what I recall, dataflow and actors where formally equivalent - i.e.

No one is claiming that she never attended Standford, they're claiming she never earned a degree from Stanford.

The biggest issue I see is that legitimate tools for protest are being subverted, perhaps by a majority, based on traffic analysis of TOR by Standford.
