pycharm

One advantage to language specific packages is that IDE's have a uniform target across platforms (PyCharm has pip support for example).

However I'm looking at going back to Spyder + some git plugin or tool, or switching to PyCharm.

For those who have used this: - Does it perform better than PyCharm?

I used Pycharm on Windows, so it pretty much abstracted away tasks like making virtualenvs, setting up environment variables, etc.

I write Python professionally, and it will be pretty hard to get me away from PyCharm.

I don't see anything in the blog post that indicates a feature PyCharm doesn't already have.

Webstorm or PyCharm or Eclipse or Android Studio or vim-go, etc?

Every time I touch the mouse in PyCharm, I cringe with the feeling of delay.

With Anaconda, I just tell my students to download a quick installer, slap on iPython or PyCharm, and it's ready to go.

I've been converting people from Eclipse to IntelliJ/PyCharm left and right at work.

That is incredibly powerful (PyCharm has it as well).

PyCharm makes my developer life so much better....

I also rather like it's <button data-bind="click: someFunction">Do The Thing</button> binding syntax (not least because with phpstorm and pycharm you can create custom language injections on XML attributes meaning I can do jump to definition near perfectly).

This is how I feel about Python and Pycharm.
