Obstetrics in a sentence as a noun

As you know, any field is constantly advancing and sometimes it returns to an older idea and uses it in a new way. This is happening in obstetrics right now.

The problem is the hospitals are required to provide care to people who can't pay, particularly in the ER and obstetrics.

A topic I usually miss from the discussion: gynecology and obstetrics practices.

The specialty with the most women is pediatrics, followed by child psychiatry, followed by obstetrics, followed by – you get the picture.

This is also a wonderful critique of systemic sexism in modern obstetrics of a sort that does not go away with more women entering the field.

For black moms the issue is wrapped up in obstetrics in the US which basically has refused to use checklists, crash carts etc... I am not sure if this has changed but there was no national standard protocol in the US.

For example, our hospital did obstetrics more as a service to the community, since other hospitals were much further, but they always lost money on it. So maybe the reason we don't see surgery centers or things like that as often is that medical institutions are more stable providing a broader range of services.
