Nonconformism in a sentence as a noun

Maybe if you come from a small town and had all nonconformism beaten out of you? Even that sounds hard to imagine to me.

If you want to show others that you go for nonconformism then you have to use some common shared language to get that across - and that then just ends up being reused a lot. A hipster will be more comfortable around others dressed like themselves because they then feel they have something in common: nonconformism, among other things.

Innovation, beyond safe incremental productivity improvements, requires nonconformism and unconventional thinking. After all, why would you create something new if you are content with what you have?

I would say that if somebody is stimming as a political statement or identity I'm almost invariably going to assume they're pretty left of center, because they're making an identity out of nonconformism and because of blog posts from radical leftists like the above.
