The lack of Lawrence Kasdan is the reason that every piece of dialogue in the prequels is incredibly awkward (but apparently extremely meme-able).

He goes on long rambles, almost free-associating, and then Kasdan or Spielberg will have a one sentence reply.

You can imagine Kasdan sitting there with an increasingly-horrified look on his face, wondering what he's gotten himself into.

When Kasdan delivered his script for Raiders, Lucas asked him to rewrite The Empire Strikes Back.

Blah, why did Google have it as the first result for Kasdan and Ewoks?

Not a fanboy of the first films by any measure, but at least Lawrence Kasdan or whoever can string a couple of lines together.

Both Kasdan and Brackett got a screenwriting credit for the film.

Given that Lucas went on to do the two Ewok follow ups, which don't seem to be artistic classics, and then the prequels...whereas Kasdan on his own did the classic Body Heat...

I hope Kasdan brings back the magic and that the reason why we don't see movies like ESB and Raiders anymore is because their screenwriter simply stopped writing them.
