How about a social platform for organising parties, without farmville and like this and like that?

The interesting thing here is not that Twitter is small, but that farmville is insanely massive.

Comparing FarmVille and Twitter is like trying to compare blunt hammer to a swiss army knife.

It doesn't help that my stream is populated by my friends' constant romps on Farmville or Mafia Wars and it just drags down the whole experience.

And most importantly - Farmville actually has an income model....

Klondike Solitaire probably hit on it by accident, but Everquest, WoW, and Farmville were built to intentionally exploit the pleasure system to secure hours upon hours of attention.

You have to take FarmVille and CityVille's so called "success" with a grain of salt.

This is the Web Economy, of course; more preposterous things have happened than stupendous investments in something as legitimately "virus-like" as Mafia Wars or FarmVille.

The "its" in "its major rival" is facebook not farmville.

"The company also noted that one of its apps, 'Farmville', is more popular than its major rival in the social-networking world – Twitter." Say what?

They're also happy to give away personal information and control for almost nothing in return (eg Farmville).

There's now a Farmville.com, so that seems like a move to slowly separate away from being completely dependent on Facebook.

Farmville is both useless and stupid, while Twitter is just useless.
