The day of the doodle we got 142k and sales/revenue spiked like crazy.

I run a website that was the first result after clicking on a Google doodle.

Personally, I feel the doodles are more about educating and informing.

It rests upon the completely unfounded assumption that time spent playing with the "doodle" could and would have otherwise been spent doing productive work.

A simple "stop censorship" doodle, akin to those being displayed by a number of other websites, would go a long way without cheapening Google's brand.

While I agree with you that they need to be careful not to cheapen their brand, I'd argue that they have a history of displaying custom doodles for far less significant things.

I often come across doodles that represent some person or thing that I had no idea about before and find myself clicking on the doodle and the subsequent links it pulls up as part of the search.

The reason boys are disciplined more than girls when both are bored half to death is that many boys hit each other and run around while many girls are "nice" and just write notes, doodle, or sleep, staying in their seats as required.

If you turn down the center oscillator and put the other two on identical settings, you should, in theory, get the same sound only twice as loud, but the doodle is a little bit buggy and sometimes pegs one oscillator an octave above or below the other.
