Thread in a sentence as a noun

This thread is bringing the worst of Hacker News out of the woodwork.

Has even one person commenting on this thread installed it except me?

In that particular thread, I was accused of being a shill and an astroturfer by 3 members.

That comment or couple of comments and their resulting threads are going to make sure very few people ever read what I've written.

I'm sorry, but the ignorance expressed in this thread by some is absolutely astounding.

Also, the original title of this thread was about a thousand times more informative.

Thread in a sentence as a verb

Restart supervision didn't always help b/c sometimes it would throw some assertion that would bail out a critical thread, but the process would stay running.

If we really cared about benchmark performance over anything else we would have dealt with the locking issues earlier so multi-threaded benchmarks would be better.

If not, commenting on a several-day-old thread will guarantee that you can never post another comment, since once threads drop off the front page it's not likely that many 1000+ karma users will even see those comments, never mind endorse them.

It would be humorously appropriate if the top comment on the thread about the official HN t-shirt were the traditional nitpicking/point-missing type that is so commonly the top comment when people launch new technology here.
