Other lyrics sites have to make money somehow.

Perhaps now would be a good time for a new lyric site run by some nice bland people to go on the offensive and rise to the top.

Once they have the lyrics they have no desire to look at other other lyrics - they arrive and then leave/bounce immediately.

Without any conclusive ground they accused other lyrics sites.

So, the only reason RG in the first place was able to provide lyrics with no spam at no costs is because they were riding on VC money.

Does RapGenius have the proper licensing to republish these lyrics?

I do this because a few years ago, certain less technical members of my family received a nasty bit of malware/rootkit combo delivered -- as best I could discern -- via a song lyric look up site.

People only look for lyrics now and again[1], it's google -> click link -> read lyrics -> leave, there's no browsing, very few people have any loyalty to any lyric site, so they have to make as much as they can off that 1 visit because they probably won't be back.
