Caret in a sentence as a noun

"Vintage: A block caret is now used"Christmas came early... I've been waiting for this for so long.

On a small screen it is not clear to me with my inadequate eyesight where the caret is from just a glance.

File -> Settings -> Editor -> "Allow placement of caret after end of line".

>how can you defend the blue text/red caret?Great contrast?Nice bold color pair? Not losing the caret because it looks like I or 1 or l?

When editing mid-word a blue tab-style arrow is applied below the caret as a visual pointer.

> but how can you defend the blue text/red caret? As someone with slightly less than perfect eyesight it's an absolute godsend.

Turns out pointer and caret are subclasses of cursor, and "mouse cursor" is perfectly acceptable to refer to the former.

* Accessibility features such as magnification following the caret or selection have to be reimplemented.
